DESACORDO PROFUNDO, IGNORÂNCIA ATIVA E ATIVISMO EPISTÊMICO

Resumo

Este artigo explora o desacordo decorrente da ignorância ativa como um tipo de desacordo profundo. Recupera-se a noção de “desacordo profundo” de Fogelin, que advertiu sobre os limites da argumentação para construir consensos e dissipar os desacordos profundos, e argumenta-se que eles podem ser resolvidos racionalmente. A partir da análise de um desacordo que tem implicações práticas e envolve sujeitos situados assimetricamente em uma teia de relações de poder, conclui-se que os desacordos decorrentes da ignorância não são imunes à resolução racional. As práticas de “ativismo epistêmico” (Medina, 2019) contam como mecanismos racionais e razoáveis de resolução de desacordos profundos derivados da ignorância ativa.
